Japan sends first batch of emergency assistance to India
Amid a shortage of oxygen supply in the country, Japan sent 100 oxygen concentrators to India as a part of the first batch of emergency assistance from Tokyo. It is known that the first package of assistance announced on 30th April by the Japanese government. The Japanese foreign ministry stated that Japan will continue extending its support to contain the COVID-19 pandemic situation in India.
Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on May 5th had a virtual meeting with Japanese counterpart Toshimitsu Motegi. Japan is ready to provide assistance up to 50 million US dollars to India.
