Ex-Union Minister Ajit Singh passes away due to Covid
Former Union Minister and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) president Ajit Singh died of Covid on Thursday morning. He was 82. Singh tested positive for coronavirus on April 20. As his health deteriorated, he was admitted to a private hospital in Gurugram on previous week’s Tuesday. Jayant Chaudhary, son of Ajit Singh, has confirmed his death through Twitter.
Ajit Singh was the son of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh. He served as union minister in several governments. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi and BJP chief J P Nadda expressed condolences on the death of Ajit Singh.
