Scott Morrison defends India COVID travel ban after criticism
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has expressed his deep concerns over the second corona wave severe impact in India and his country people facing the threat. Scott Morrison has defended the threat of jail time for people trying to travel from COVID-hit India amid criticism by human rights group.
Earlier, he has announced that the government will impose fine of roughly $50,000 and five years imprisonment. Morrison said that the they all are just working to do what’s right for the health interests of Australians and added that the likelihood of anyone being fined or jailed is extremely remote.
