Yanam Assembly Polls: 30-year-old independent candidate defeats former Chief Minister
Yanam: Gollapalli Srinivas Ashok, a 30-year-old independent candidate defeated the former Puducherry chief minister and All India NR Congress President N Rangaswamy in the recently held Yanam Assembly constituency elections. Gollapalli Srinivas emerged victorious over former CM Ranganswamy by 656 votes. He came from a political background family and entered into politics after his father wish.
It is known that Malladi Krishna Rao who served as Yanam MLA for a continuous 25 years from the Congress and resigned from the party, gave the way to Rangaswamy to contest from Yanam. Rangaswany won the Thattanchavady constituency where is on the election fray on a second seat. The ruling party is chalking out the strategies to invite him into the party.
