03-05-2021 Mon 15:00
Serum Institute of India’s chief Adar Poonawalla has now said that the vaccine crunch would continue till July. The current production capacity is 60-70 million doses per month, and it can be ramped up to 100 million doses only by July.
On the issue of the institute not ramping up production, Poonawalla stated that the politicians are wrongly framing the company, and the Central government is solely responsible for the vaccine policies. The Centre never anticipated the second wave and the company couldn’t ramp up the production earlier, he mentioned.
