TS govt appoints committee to investigate Devaryamjal temple lands encroachments

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government on Monday appointed a committee of officers headed by M Raghunandan Rao, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Commissioner to investigate the alleged encroachments of endowment lands belongs to Sri Seetha Rama Swamy temple at Devaryamjal village, Shamirpet Mandal in Medchal Malkajgiri.
It is alleged that the former Health Minister Eatala Rajender and others encroached over 1,521 acres worth Rs 1,000 crore belongs to the temple. Nalgonda district Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil, Medchal Malkajgiri district Collector Swetha Mohanty and Mancherial district Collector Bharathi Holikeri are other members of the Committee.
