Oxygen shortage leads to death of five patients at private hospital in Kurnool
Five patients, who are undergoing treatment for coronavirus at KS Care Hospital in Kurnool, died because of oxygen shortage on Saturday. On receiving information, the DMHO and Kurnool DSP have rushed to the hospital. With the arrival of police, staff working at the hospital ran away.
It is learnt that hospital had admitted covid patients without obtaining permission from the DMHO. During the preliminary enquiry by DMHO, the hospital failed to arrange oxygen till afternoon despite patients were complaining of trouble in breathing from morning onwards. The remaining covid patients from the hospital were shifted to covid care centres.
