DPH directs DMHOs to stop supply of vaccine doses to private hospitals in Telangana
Director of Public Health (DPH) G Srinivasa Rao on Friday directed the DMHOs and pharmacists to stop supplying of vaccine doses to private hospitals in Telangana. However, existing stock of vaccine vials can be administered to people above 45 years. The Central government gave green signal for vaccination of aged between 18 and 44 from May 1.
However, the Centre did not send enough vaccine doses to the Telangana state. In the wake of shortage of vaccine stock, government hospitals will administer free vaccines doses to people while the private hospitals have to procure directly from open markets by paying money.
