The situation in India, where COVID-19 cases have surged, is beyond heart-breaking, and the World Health Organisation (WHO) is sending extra staff and supplies there to help fight the pandemic, WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Monday.
“WHO is doing everything we can, providing critical equipment and supplies, including thousands of oxygen concentrators, prefabricated mobile field hospitals and laboratory supplies,” Tedros said. Meanwhile, the country has recorded over 3.5 lakh covid positive fresh cases on Monday. India has till now reported over 1.95 lakh deaths due to covid and over 1.43 crore people have been discharged.
