PM holds high-level meeting on oxygen supply after SC seeks national plan on 4 issues
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday has called a high-level meeting to discuss the oxygen supply across the country and will discuss various ways to ramp up its availability. The PM took the decision to call this meeting just after Supreme Court sought the suo motu cognisance on Covid situation.
The meeting's main objective was to figure out innovative ways to provide oxygen support to health institution and combat the virus. Modi also directed officials to ensure oxygen supply to states in a smooth and unhindered manner. The apex court has sought national plan on these four issues from the Centre: supply of oxygen, method and manner of vaccination, supply of essential drugs, and states’ power to declare lockdown.
