Phase 6 polling begins in West Bengal, PM Modi requests voters
WEST BENGAL: The voting for the sixth phase of Assembly elections for 43 seats in West Bengal started today amid tight security. Heavy forces deployed in the polling areas to prevent unwanted situations. 306 candidates among 27 are female are in the election fray. As per reports, 10,409,948 voters are going to cast their votes in the election and decide the fate of contestants in 46 seats. Congress, the Left Parties and the Indian Secular Front allied together and contesting in the name of Samyukta Morcha in the elections. The elections will be held in Nadia, North Dinajpur, North 24 Paragans, East Burdwan today.
PM Modi urged the people of West Bengal to cast their votes in the polling. He tweeted as "The people of West Bengal are voting to elect a new assembly. On the sixth phase today, urging those whose seats are polling to exercise their franchise."
