West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee banned from campaigning for 24 hours
West Bengal: The Election Commission imposed a ban on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee from election campaigning in the state for 24 hours. The EC stated that CM Mamata violated the election code with her remarks. It is said that she violated the election code with her comments on Muslim voters and allegedly requested the voters to fight against the Central Security Forces.
Reacting to the decision of the EC, CM Mamata said that she will stage a protest on Tuesday at Gandhi Murti, Kolkata against the EC's unconstitutional decision.
