Centre halts export of Remdesivir
NEW DELHI: The Centre imposed a ban on the export of the anti-viral drug Remdesivir and Remdesivir Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) amid increasing Coronavirus positive cases in the nation. "India is witnessing an increase in COVID cases and at present, 11.8 lakh actives cases are in the country, still the cases are increasing.
Therefore, the demand for Remdesivir Injection increased and it is known that Remdesivir is used for the treatment of Corona patients. It is said that in future the demand for Remdesivir will be increased. Seven Indian companies are producing Remdesivir. The government banned the export of Remdesivir to other countries.
