West Bengal violence: 5 killed in Sitalkuchi, BJP-TMC workers reportedly clash
As violence has been reported in several parts of West Bengal, 5 people have been killed reportedly in Sitalkuchi in Cooch Behar district. The massive clash took place between Trinamool Congress and Bhartiya Janata Party workers. Trinamool Congress has written to the poll panel saying, “5 of our workers killed,” and alleged the role of central forces.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has hit out at the central forces over Sitalkuchi violence faceoff. Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to Sitalkuchi violence and appealed to Election Commission saying, “Punish those behind violence. Trinamool Congress is trying to block Central forces.”
