SEC moves lunch motion petition in AP HC challenging single judge stay over parishad polls
The State Election Commission (SEC) on Tuesday evening moved a lunch motion petition in the High Court challenging single judge bench stay over ZPTC and MPTC elections. The division bench of the High Court will hear the arguments over the SEC’s petition on Wednesday.
In the petition, the SEC stated that single judge should have dismissed the petition filed by TDP leader Varla Ramaiah as he is not contesting in parishad elections. The poll body also brought to the notice of the High Court that there is no rule of four weeks gap between the date of issuing election notification and polling date.
