Covid positive Telangana girl, ostracised from village, returns home after Kishan Reddy steps in
A Telangana girl who had COVID-19 was forced to spend two weeks isolating herself in a make-shift tent in her family’s jowar field. It is alleged that the village residents denied entry to the girl due to the stigma associated with the disease. The news has gone viral on social media platforms.
Union Minister of State for Home Kishan Reddy has stepped into the matter. He has directed the state DGP and district SP to take care of the situation and do the needful. A team of officials met the girl and conducted an RT-PCR test. The 14-year-old Telangana girl from the Adilabad district returned home after testing negative for Covid-19.
