Mob attacks policemen in Nanded over refusal to hold religious procession
A mob of sword-wielding Sikhs attacked policemen in the Nanded area of Maharashtra over refusal to hold a religious procession. A video, that has now gone viral, showed the sword-wielding mob barging out of the gurdwara, breaking the barricades put up by police and attacking the police personnel.
Four policemen have been injured in the attack while 6 vehicles were also damaged in the incident. Police said that permission for the procession had been refused due to covid pandemic restrictions. Maharashtra has been reporting highest number covid cases in the last few days.
