KA Paul to sit on hunger strike in Delhi from Sunday opposing Vizag steel plant privatisation
Praja Santhi Party (PSP) founder-president K A Paul announced on Friday that he would be sitting on an indefinite hunger strike in Delhi from Sunday onwards opposing privatisation of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP). Talking to reporters in Delhi, Paul predicted that India would become like Venezuela and Nigeria if PSUs are sold to private companies.
Paul revealed that some of the BJP leaders warned him for extending support to farmers’ unions, who are continuing agitation against new farm laws. He made an appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to reverse their decisions on farm laws and VSP privatisation.
