"Free at last": Varavara Rao discharged from hospital, released on bail
MUMBAI: The 81-year-old poet-activist Varavara Rao finally released from jail after two years as the Bombay High Court granted him bail on medical grounds. Varavara Rao undergoing treatment at Mumbai's Nanavati Hospital and he discharged on Saturday. The Bombay HC granted bail for 6 months to him. The Court asked him to stay in Mumbai and should be available for investigation whenever it is necessary.
The news disclosed after his lawyer Indira Jaisingh shared a photo of him on Twitter. The Court also asked him to submit his passport before the National Investigation Agency. He needs to submit a bond of Rs 50,000 and two sureties for the same amount.
