SEC warns of strict action if voters influenced through ward volunteers in municipal polls
State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has warned of strict action if voters are influenced through ward volunteers in the elections to municipalities, municipal corporations and Nagara Panchayats. He stated that concerned can register a complaint with the call centre if volunteers were involved in bribing the voters.
The SEC issued orders to district collectors and municipal commissioners to take action once they received complaints. Officials were directed to keep a vigil on ward volunteers till the completion of municipal elections. Polling for municipalities will be held on March 10.
