SEC contempt plea: High Court directs personal appearance of Nilam Sawhney, Dwivedi on March 22

The High Court on Monday directed Nilam Sawhney, Principal Adviser to the Chief Minister and Gopal Krishna Dwivedi, Principal Secretary (Panchayat Raj) to appear before it on March 22 in a contempt petition filed by State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar.
The SEC moved a contempt plea against Nilam Sawhney, who was then Chief Secretary and Dwivedi for not allocating funds to the commission for expenses towards rural and urban body elections. The High Court directed the AP government to submit a status report and served notices to Sawhney and Dwivedi.
