Russia reports world’s first case of human infection with H5N8 bird flu
Russia has reported the 'World's First Case' of transmission of Bird Flu(H5N8) to humans. The report was sent to the World Health Organization, and the information of the H5N8 strain of avian flu from birds to humans has alerted it.
The scientists at the Vektor laboratory had isolated the H5N8 strain of avian flu outbreak from seven workers at a poultry farm in southern Russia in December. However, there were no reports of health disorders. They did not suffer any serious health consequences.
The strain H5N8 is very contagious and lethal for birds. Earlier, the strain H5N8 had never before been reported to have spread to humans.
