Indian-American scientist Swati Mohan leads NASA’s Mars 2020 mission
Swati Mohan, the Indian-American scientist has made the headlines as she helped NASA land rover on Mars. NASA's Perseverance rover on Thursday has landed successfully on the Red Planet. Swati Mohan as flight controller led the control operations of NASA's Mars 2020 mission including navigation. Indian-American scientist has played a pivotal role in the landing of the historic craft.
Swati Mohan has moved from India to the United States when she was 1 year old. She was raised in Washington DC metro area. She has done her B.S from Cornell University in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering. She has completed her M.S. and Ph.D from MIT in Aeronautics/Astronautics. Swati Mohan has worked on Mars 2020 since almost the beginning of the project in 2013.
