Hyderabad is only city from India recognized as Tree City Of World
HYDERABAD, the land of beautiful gardens and parks earned another international recognition as one of the 51 Tree Cities of the World. As per reports, Hyderabad is the only city from Indian which listed in 51 Tree Cities of the World by the Arbor Day Foundation's 2020 Tree City of the World award. Hyderabad got this recognition due to the urban forests.
Telangana Municipal Minister K Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) appreciated the officials and said it happened due to Haritha Haram. He took to Twitter and tweeted as "Happy to share that @arborday foundation (which works with FAO of UN) has recognised Hyderabad as a Tree city of the world. The only Indian city to be included in this list This is an acknowledgement of our efforts to improve green cover as part of #HarithaHaaram program."
