Kiran Bedi removed as Puducherry LG amid Cong govt slipping into minority
Removal of Kiran Bedi from the post of Puducherry Lieutenant-Governor came as a surprise amid the Congress government slipping into majority with the resignation of four MLAs including Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao. President Ram Nath Kovind issued an order removing Kiran Bedi and handing over additional charge to Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan. According to reports, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy had staged protests on several occasions to remove Kiran Bedi from the Lieutenant-Governor post. Meanwhile, Kiran Bedi has released an audio tape thanking the Modi government for giving her a chance to discharge duties as LG.
