Surrender BPL ration cards before March 31: Karnataka government

Bengaluru: The government of Karnataka asked the people who are having Below Poverty Line (BPL) ration cards who are owning a two-wheeler, TV, fridge or over five acres of land to surrender their ration cards. The government asked them to surrender the cards before 31st March or else they need to face legal actions.
Addressing the press conference, Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Minister Umesh Katti said that there are some parameters to possess a BPL card and people who are having a two-wheeler, TV or fridge should return their cards or government will do it. He further said that those who earn more than Rs 1.20 lakh per annum are also not eligible to hold the cards and asked them to return the cards.
