AP High Court allows Minister Peddireddy to hold press meets, instructs not to speak on polls
The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday gave permission to Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy for holding press meetings. However, the minister instructed not to speak to media about ongoing gram panchayat elections. Earlier, the single High Court judge gave partial relief to minister by striking down the house arrest order issued by the State Election Commission.
However, no respite was given to Peddireddy from holding press meetings. He had challenged the single judge verdict in the division bench. The High Court also directed the minister not to make comments against State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar.
