PM Modi invites farm leaders to talks, says MSP will remain in future
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday invited farmer leaders to talks while giving reply on Motion of Thanks in Rajya Sabha on President Ram Nath Kovind’s address. He said that the minimum support price (MSP) for farmers will remain in the future.
The PM made an appeal to farmers to identify those leaders, who are dependent on protests for their livelihood. He made it clear that public distribution system meant for providing essential commodities for the poor and needy will continue. Modi mentioned that his government is extending more support to farmers compared to previous governments.
