Uttarakhand glacier burst aftermath: Rescue operations halted as water levels rise
A spine-chilling tragedy hit the State of Uttarakhand on Sunday where the Tapovan power dam washed away after glacier burst. Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar said that the rescue operations at the Tapovan tunnel had to be halted due to a rise in water level.
According to the latest reports, 125 labourers are still missing and the search and rescue operations will resume soon. As of now, 8 bodies recovered from the rescue operations so far while several others are missing. Meanwhile, ITBP jawans chant the motto of their battalion amid the rescue operations in Uttarakhand.
