3 farm laws paused, Centre will respect SC verdict, says President Ram Nath Kovind
The Central government will respect the Supreme Court’s decision on the farmer protests and is trying to tackle misgivings over farm laws at the root of the agitation, President Ram Nath Kovind told parliament on Friday.
Addressing a joint sitting of parliament on the opening day of the Budget session, the President also condemned the violence during the tractor rally by farmers in Delhi on Republic Day. The President stated that the Centre had raised MSP based on the Swaminathan panel report. Nineteen opposition parties have boycotted the President’s address in support of the farmers’ demand of repealing three farm laws.
