Panchayat polls: SEC Nimmagadda violated High Court verdict, says Speaker Tammineni

Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Tammineni Sitaram came down heavily on State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar for issuing panchayat poll notification by violating the High Court verdict. Speaking to the media, he alleged that Nimmagadda wants to conduct panchayat elections to benefit a political party.
Tammineni stated that the SEC has the responsibility to protect the lives of frontline workers too. He flayed Nimmagadda for speaking to the media with a covid shield and leaving without answering the questions asked by reporters. The Speaker mentioned that the AP government is ready to cooperate with the SEC for holding panchayat elections once vaccination is completed for government employees.
