Centre ready to put new farm laws on hold for about 12 months: Minister Tomar
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the Centre is ready to put on hold the new farm laws for one to one and a half years. He expressed confidence that the next level talks will provide a solution to the issue and till now 10 rounds of talks held between the farmers and the government. The Centre is going to hold talks with farmers on 22 January.
He said that the farmer unions have taken very seriously and hope they will consider the proposal and will announce their decision on 22 January. It is known that the farmers staging a protest against the three farm laws and demanding to repeal the laws.
