Farm law twist: Bhupinder Mann quits SC appointed panel; farmer unions express happiness
The Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) has claimed that former MP Bhupinder Singh Mann, who was one of the four members in the Supreme Court-appointed panel of farm laws, has recused himself from the role. He said, “I will always stand strong with farmers and Punjab. I am thankful to the Supreme Court that they chose me but I am opting myself out.” Other members on the committee set up on January 12 by the Supreme Court included agricultural experts Ashok Gulati, Dr Pramod Kumar Joshi, and Anil Dhanawat. Farmer unions have expressed happiness over Mann opting-out from the panel.
