Andhra Pradesh government forms religious tolerance panels
AMARAVATI: Amid attacks on Hindu temples, the Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday issued a G.O announcing setting up religious tolerance committees at the state and district levels to control the religious hatred and to guard the religious sentiments of the citizens. State Chief Secretary Aditya Nath Das said that strict actions will take against the people who are behind the attacks on temples.
Speaking to the media, Aditya Nath Das said the attacks on temples is unfortunate. He stated that the chief secretary is the chairman of the state religious tolerance committee and DGP is the vice-chairman and representatives will be from Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Buddha, Sikh and Jain religions.
He further stated that the chairman of the district-level committee is Collector and SP is the vice-chairman. He stated the committees will meet whenever any religious problem occurred and will take measures to control the incidents.
