Why new year celebrations not banned in Telangana: High Court
HYDERABAD: Telangana High Court on Thursday expressed dismay on Telangana government for not imposing a ban on new year celebrations amid the fear of new variant virus in the state. The High Court questioned the state government why they failed to impose a ban on the new year celebrations. The court considered it as a Suo Moto case after seeing the media clippings. The HC asked the Telangana government how they granted permission for celebrations even after Health Director citing the new variant virus as dangerous.
The court mentioned that Rajasthan and Maharashtra governments imposed a ban on the celebrations. The Court asked why the government showing negligence during the present situation. The Court further asked the government to take strict measures to contain the virus.
