AP High Court dismisses petition against YS Jagan, says no need for CM to give declaration at Tirumala
The AP High Court dismissed the petition filed against Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy pointing out that he entered the Tirumala temple without signing a declaration form which is mandatory for non-Hindus. Justice Battu Devanand struck down the petition as the Guntur-based petitioner A Sudhakar Babu failed to prove that the CM is a Christian.
The High Court stated one cannot be construed that a person is Christian if he participates in a church sermon and gospel meetings. Being a state representative, no need for the CM to give a declaration for submitting silk clothes to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala as he was also invited by the TTD, the High Court stated.
