Andhra govt replaces Antarvedi temple chariot which was gutted in fire; conducts trial run

Antarvedi temple chariot in Andhra Pradesh, which was gutted in fire on September 6 and triggered a row in the state, has been replaced. The Antarvedi Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple chariot in the East Godavari district has been completed in a record time of three months.
According to the reports, around Rs, 95 lakhs were put to construct the new chariot. The new chariot made with teak wood is 42 feet tall and will have a brake system for its six wheels. The chariot will be used during processions on special occasions and temple festivals. The report suggests that the chariot will be inducted into the temple for ‘Rathotsavam’ on February 23.
On the other hand, temple authorities have successfully conducted the trial run of the chariot.
