First indigenous Pneumonia vaccine to be launched next week: Report
It is a big breakthrough in Indian Medicine as the Serum Institute of India has developed the first indigenous vaccine against pneumonia. It is going to be launched next week by Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and made available in the domestic market soon.
According to the reports, the phase 1, 2 and 3 clinical trials were done in India and African nation Gambia. The data of the same was studied by the Drug Controller of India. The name of the vaccine is Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Conjugate vaccine and it got market approval in July by the drug regulator.
