Five COVID-19 patients killed as fire breaks out at Rajkot hospital
NEW DELHI: In a tragic incident, five COVID-19 patients died and six patients injured severely after a fire broke out in intensive care unit in private hospital in Rajkot, Gujrat. The incident took place on Friday. According to the sources, a major fire mishap broke out in Uday Shivananda hospital and five Corona patients died in the incident and six persons injured severely.
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani expressed deep condolences to the families of victims and announced Rs 4 lakh ex-gratia to the victims families. It is learnt that a total of 33 persons are undergoing to treatment in the hospital at the time of the incident. Three people died on the spot. It is said that short-circuit is the reason behind the fire accident.
