Govt speeds up new districts proposal in AP

Andhra Pradesh government led by CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has expedited the process of reorganisation of districts. Though uncertainty prevails over the exact number of districts in the state, it is learnt that the total number of districts after the reorganisation is likely to be more than 25 and less than 30. In social media, there are reports that 32 districts will be there in the state. AP government has been planning new districts taking every Parliament constituency as a unit.

Four committees formed by the state government have been focussing on all the elements of administration after going through the strength of each department and the infrastructures associated with it. It is also studying the new offices of the Police department in each district. It is learned that by January 2021, the full clarity on this aspect will come out.
