Devineni Uma demands release of Amaravati farmers
Former TDP minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao has demanded the AP government to release arrested Dalit farmers belonging to Krishnayapalem village immediately. The TDP leader and advocate Sravan Kumar have visited the hunger strike camp organised by the Dalit JAC at Mandadam in support of Amaravati as the only capital for Andhra Pradesh.
Devineni Uma and Sravan have expressed solidarity with their stir. Speaking to the media, the TDP leader faulted the Jagan government for arresting farmers, who sacrificed their lands for capital construction. Later, protesters called off the strike after drinking lemon juice offered by Devineni Uma.
