PM Modi inaugurates India’s first sea-plane service between Kevadia & Sabarmati
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the Kevadia-Sabarmati water aerodromes and the seaplane service connecting two key projects in Gujarat. The event marked the 145th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Deputy Prime Minister of India, observed as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.
Water aerodromes at both these locations are being developed with aviation expertise of the Airports Authority of India in cooperation with the Gujarat government. Under the RCS-UDAN scheme, there are plans to develop 12 such seaplane routes in the country with an aim to boost tourism and generate employment.
