Trump Administration proposes scrapping computerised draw for H-1B Visas
US President Donald Trump has decided to take a key decision ahead of the Presidential election. Trump Administration has proposed scraping the computerized lottery system to select H-1B Visas to offer higher-skilled workers higher wages rather than giving importance to filling relatively lower-paid vacancies. The move is likely to affect the downward pressure on the wages of US workers.
The department of homeland security (DHS) has been asked to give its consent within 30 days on the notification on the new system published in the Federal Register. The said move is likely to safeguard the employment status of the Americans.
