India-US 2+2 dialogue: BECA signed: Details of the pact
India and the United States signed the crucial Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement (BECA) during the 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue held in New Delhi on 27th October. BECA mainly covers information on maps and satellite images for defense purposes.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar, has held talks with the US counterpart US Defense Secretary Mark Esper and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. The exercise will help the bilateral relationship between the two nations. Rajnath Singh has termed BECA as a significant achievement.
The third edition of the 2+2 talks with Pompeo and Esper just before the US Presidential elections on 3rd November has assumed significance.
