Nimmagadda Ramesh can’t hold local body polls without govt consent: Kodali Nani
Minister Kodali Nani on Saturday said that Chief Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar cannot hold elections to local bodies without consulting the AP government. He stated that conducting local body elections is not possible when a second wave of coronavirus is expected in November-December.
Holding Assembly elections is mandatory in Bihar whereas local body elections in AP can be conducted at any time, he mentioned. Nani made it clear that the state government is not ready to conduct local body elections in the next few months as health of people is paramount.
