Plea seeks transfer of PILs on Uniform Marriage Age from Delhi, Rajasthan High Courts to SC
NEW DELHI: A plea was filed in the Supreme Court of India seeking 'Uniform Minimum Age of Marriage for Men and Women to avoid gender in gender justice and gender equality. According to the sources, lawyer Ashwini Upadhyay filed a plea on Thursday in the Supreme Court of India requesting a transfer of two pleas form the High Courts of Rajasthan and Delhi.
The plea was filed to seek gender justice, gender equality and uniform marriage age for men and women. Now, the minimum age for marriage for women is 18 and 21 for men. Click the video for more information.
