Removal of religion, caste from attendance register is CM Jagan’s decision: Minister Suresh

Education Minister Adimulapu Suresh on Saturday said Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has instructed the officials to remove religion and caste columns from the attendance register of all educational institutions across the state. Suresh praised the chief minister for taking such decision which will remove discrimination towards students belong to certain communities. He stated that gender bias in the attendance register came to his notice. The minister mentioned that the AP government has issued a GO directing educational institutions not to write caste and religion in the attendance registers.
