Peru allows a single tourist to visit Machu Picchu after lockdown-Here is why?
Peru has opened Machu Picchu for a single Japanese tourist. The Japanese visitor Jesse Takayama had been waiting to visit the World Heritage Site since March. He got stranded due to the coronavirus pandemic. It has halted travel and forced widespread closures. After hearing the plight of the Japanese tourist, the local tourism authority decided to give special permission and organize a special visit for Jesse Takayama.
Takayama has specially thanked the Peruvian government. Minister of Culture Alejandro Neyra said the Japanese tourist was permitted to tour the Inca city after submitting a special request.
