Google introduces new feature for deaf users identifies fire alarms, dog barking
Tech giant Google introduced a new feature for Android to serve the hearing impaired. The new feature alerts the deaf people and those who are wearing headphones though push notifications, vibrations and a flash using the mobile camera light. Google developed this feature using machine learning and the sound notifications utilise phone's microphone to recognise ten different noises around us which includes shouting, water running, baby noises, sirens, fire and smoke alarms, door knocking, dog barking, a land phone ringing, etc.
The feature also works on Google's Wear OS smartwatches and alerts with a vibration. Users can also scroll the screen to know about the missed notifications in the last few hours. This feature will help deaf people a lot in certain situations. Click the video for more information.
