Modi govt encouraging corn imports, hurting farmers: Harish Rao
Finance Minister Harish Rao said that the Central government is encouraging import of corn by reducing the tax. Thus, hurting the farmers in India, he slammed. In a public meeting held at Chegunta in Medak district, the minister distributed pattadar passbooks to farmers.
Terming Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao as a pro-farmer, he came down heavily on the BJP-led NDA government for granting only Rs 210 crore towards pensions per annum while the Telangana government is spending Rs 11,700 crore for the same. He urged people to vote for the TRS in Dubbaka by-election.
